Our Story

The gap wasn't talent. It was technology.

OverTime Sport Operations was founded by Eric Butcher, a former coach who spent years watching great coaching get buried under the weight of broken tools. Film sat locked in formats that took hours to review. Scout preparation required analyst staffs that most programs couldn't afford. Administrative work — scheduling, budgets, communications — consumed time that belonged on the practice field.

The insight was simple: the gap wasn't talent. It was technology.

OT Sport Ops builds software that closes that gap across two products: OT Engage, an AI coaching intelligence platform, and OT Elevate, the operational backbone for athletic programs.

OT Engage

AI Coaching Intelligence

OT Engage is the only AI assistant built specifically for coaches. At its core is Eli — a coaching intelligence layer trained to understand the language, concepts, and schemes of sport.

Eli analyzes game film, generates defensive breakdowns and scout reports, draws play diagrams, maps opponent tendencies, and helps coaching staffs prepare with the depth that previously required a dedicated analyst.

The film analysis pipeline uses Google Gemini 2.5 Pro via Vertex AI for the heavy video work — detecting individual plays within full game footage and narrating each clip with personnel, formation, coverage, and result. That structured narration feeds directly into Eli, so a coach can ask about an opponent's third-down tendencies and get an answer grounded in every play they've run on film.

OT Elevate

Athletic Program Management

OT Elevate is the operational backbone for high school athletic programs. Scheduling, budgeting, roster management, recruiting pipelines, and parent and athlete communications — all in a single platform.

Built around how athletic departments actually run, not how enterprise software thinks they should. Every feature exists because a coach asked for it.

Both products run on Google Cloud Platform. GCP gives OT Sport Ops the compute to run real-time AI film analysis, the storage to handle hours of video, and the reliability to be available on game day when coaches need it most.
